Ignorant Ass Holes

On the website for my local newspaper today there was an article titled something like “ dog attacks 3 year old boy” the article is very vague stating only that the dog attacked and killed the boy, and that after displaying aggression towards police officers and medical personnel the dog was shot by an officer. There are no details such as the breed of dog, weather or not the dog was chained up (I’d bet money that this was the case), weather or not there was a history of abuse, neglect or aggression with the dog or weather or not the kid was supervised with the dog. But I just love how in the comments people automatically assume that the dog was a pit bull and that all pit bulls are aggressive killers unfit for life on this earth! It frustrates and angers me that these ignorant assholes can make such judgements and statements without knowing any of the facts.
In another article on the same website it states that in our county the shelter takes in an estimated 4000 pit bulls each year 73% of which are euthanized because there aren’t enough educated people to provide loving homes for these poor dogs. The county is trying to combat the problem by offering free spay/neuter surgeries to owners of the breed. This made me very happy to see that they are trying to take a more humane approach to the problem and address it with the true responsible parties – the owners. Yet again, the ignorant ass-holes had to butt in with their “these vicious dogs are all killers and every one needs to be euthanized upon setting foot inside the animal control facility”...
Come on you idiots these dogs are NOT born mean, they are made that way by the “wannabe badasses” who leave them tied out on huge rusty, heavy chains, to starve, to be yelled at, kicked, tormented and starved of the most basic necessities for survival. Yet even after all of this treatment the ignorant ass-holes still blame the dogs for being “vicious”.
